Introduction

Edgeville is said to be one of RuneScape's most dangerous towns. The reason is due to the Wilderness - a large, dangerous, barren wasteland located a few steps north of the town. This area brings adventurers and skillers alike to Edgeville in order to gain access to the dangerous land. The Wilderness is not all frights and scares; it is also home to The Abyss. Many RuneCrafters use it to make runes faster. Fear not the Wilderness; you must cross a large ditch to access it, so you won't find yourself lost among the its horrors by accident.

From RuneCrafters to Wilderness explorers, the benevolent town of Edgeville has something for all. It can be accessed by a quick walk west of the Grand Exchange or a simple rub on your charged Amulet of Glory.

Locations and attractions

An Amulet of Glory may whisk you away to this splendid city through means of teleportation. Alternatively, for those of you lacking an Amulet or are free players, Edgeville is a short walk north of Barbarian Village (which is west of Varrock) or east of the Ice Mountains. Lastly, you may teleport to Edgeville Dungeon using Ancient Magicks.

Bank
Central Edgeville harbors a standard bank. Come here to withdraw or deposit your items. Especially useful if you're about to venture off into the Wilderness

Furnace
Another reason for Edgeville's popularity is due to its furnace, located a few steps away from the bank. Please note that you must have completed at least one of the Varrock Achievement Diaries in order to access the furnace as well as you must be wearing the armor given by the diary.

Building of Men
North of Edgeville's Bank is a rather popular training area for beginning players. The building contains approximately ten Level 3 Men for people to either kill or thieve from. It's also very close to the bank. Players can loot and pillage the Men and deposit what they drop quickly and conveniently.

Oziach's House
In the Dragon Slayer quest, Oziach's house is where you get information on the map parts of Crandor. Once you have completed the quest, you can also purchase several powerful and helpful items from Edgeville. For more information on this shop, check out our future Shop Database Entry.

General Store
Northwest of the bank is a General Store as well as a range on the second floor of the house. For more information on this store, check out our Shop Database Entry.

Yew Trees
Free players with at least level 60 Woodcutting may train their skills on the Edgeville Yew Trees. This area contains two Yew Trees and it is conveniently close to the bank. The only downside is the popularity because many players choose to train here which may put a damper on your training.

Doris' and Evil Dave's House
Doris is a very peculiar citizen of Edgeville who actively supports her even stranger son, Evil Dave, who lives in the basement of the house. The two people play a part in the Recipe for Disaster quest. This area is also popular for its water source and close proximity to the bank. It is a popular spot for filling up empty vials for Herblore.

Jail
This house is actually a jail guarded by two Level 21 Guards. You never see a prisoner here, but seeing as how often the guards are killed... Do I have to go on?

Edgeville Dungeon
Edgeville Dungeon is a very popular training place. It has many attractions ranging from coal and silver rocks to the famous Hill Giants to the fearsome underground Wilderness area. Explore at your own risk!

Summoning Mini-Obelisk
Northeast of the Edgeville Bank is a small obelisk that allows you to renew your Summoning points. You cannot craft pouches here.

Canoes
This area in Edgeville, located on the other side of the river is home to a tree. If a player has woodcutting axe, he or she may chop it down and make it into a canoe. Then the canoe can be taken to various locations, including Lumbridge or into the Wilderness.

Fairy Ring
The Fairy Ring Code DKR will teleport you to this fairy ring, located west of the bank across the river.

Lucien's House
This small shack is located far enough away from Edgeville. It is inhabited by the uncanny Lucien. He plays a role in the Temple of Ikov quest.

Wilderness Ditch
This is the fine line between death and happiness in RuneScape. Crossing this ditch will take you from the seemingly peaceful town of Edgeville to the not-so-peaceful wasteland of the Wilderness inhabited by Revenants waiting to prey on players. Enter if you dare!

Monastery
West of Edgeville is a prayer monastery inhabited by a group of monks. Players can go to the Prayer Guild, located on the second floor of the monastery if they have 31 Prayer or higher. For more information on the Prayer Guild, click here.

Grand Exchange
East of Edgeville is the Grand Exchange, a large area where players can sell or buy items.

The Abyss
North of Edgeville is The Abyss, which is a very popular area for RuneCrafting. Players are teleported by the Mage of Zamorak, enter their portal of choice, craft their runes, and teleport back to Edgeville by means of an Amulet of Glory.

FAQ

Q: Can other players kill me in Edgeville?
A: No, as you are not in the Wilderness. The only thing that can kill you are the Guards/Men or any Random Events.

Q: To access the monastery, do I have to cross through the Wilderness?
A: Nope! It's close though, but slightly before the ditch.
