The Golden Tofu (Part 1)

As little boy Gary went through the City of Varrock, he walked into the General Shop and saw a Mithril Sword that he wanted. Gary lived in a poor family and wasn't able to buy it because it was too expensive. He then saw a classmate of his called Fred and he was buying one of the swords; while Gary stared through the General Shop window, he

decided it was time to put his thieving skills to the test. He had never really stolen anything of real value before. Maybe he'd stolen a cake or two, but this sword he felt it would be a new experience. He decided it was an item to better equip himself for the task so he

ran to the nearest jail cell. He looked for a criminal who was good at thieving and asked him

"Excuse me, do you think you could help me out? I need help stealing a sword!" He whispered this as a guard walked past and

pulled out his sword and said, “If you want this sword, you'll have it... just not in your hands!" The guard laughs and continues walking down the hall.

Gary backed away at first. The man in the cells movement's were very unclear, first he seemed friendly, and then it was as if he was going to kill him. "What if I give you something in return?" Gary asked he now had no need to whisper, because the guard had rounded the corner.

The Cellmate kept on saying "no", but Gary kept insisting. He wouldn't leave him alone, so the Cellmate sent him down in the Lumbridge Woods to go look for

a slice of golden tofu. The golden tofu was a legend passed down from family to family in Port Sarim, and the legend said he who wields a dagger of brown covered in green, and destroys the magical tree will gain access to the city of golden tofu. Gary figured

that if he would talk to some families who lived in Port Sarim, he would probably find out more information so

he grabbed his sweet spade, and started towards Port Sarim.

On his way there he passed many unfamiliar sites of golden fields in the Draynor valley. There from the wheat fields to his surprise jumped out

an old man "What do you want" the old man asked. "I want to get the golden tofu, because someone will help me with something in return for the tofu." Said Gary "The golden tofu?" the man replied. "Yes" said Gary "Have you heard of it?" Gary asked. "Heard of it? HEARD OF IT?! I have been looking for that tofu for seven years now..." Said the old man "Why do you want it, sir?" asked Gary "To keep it away from kids like you, that tofu is cursed you know!"

"Cursed what do you mean? Gary asked. The old man looked into Gary's eyes and then started to laugh and laugh and laugh. When he stopped he replied,

"Haven't you heard the legend of the cursed golden tofu?" Boy... you kids today. Come take a seat, and I'll tell 'ye a story.

"Once upon a time..." The man started. "There was the happy kingdom 'Misthalin' ok there still is a happy kingdom called 'Misthalin' but that's besides the point, now that kingdom was at the time, ruled by a very spoiled king, he wanted everything that belongs to him, to be made out of gold."
"ROFL" said Gary. "I'd like that"
The man looks at the boy and sighs "just let me continue my story..."
"Ok." Gary replied.
"Now to get gold it must be mined of course and the king himself wouldn't mine it of course, so a large part of the inhabitants of Misthalin had to mine for him"
"Did they get paid?" Gary asked.
"Paid?" asked the man "What would they need money for, they never left the mines!" shouted the old man.
"They were given food and drink, normally people get bread and water in such situations, but these people got bread, and soy milk. I don't know why, but that's what they got. Now the king was very fond of tofu and the people knew that. Amongst those people was a wizard, now in these days Wizards are mostly found in their wizard tower, but back then there weren't a lot of wizards in Misthalin so he was captured and made slave like the other people. The wizard said 'we must avenge ourselves and imprison the king' 'but how?' the people in the mines said 'I can cast a spell on a piece of food that can trap the king inside it' 'but we only have bread' said the people 'you're wrong about that the wizard said, we also have soy milk!' 'but soy milk isn't food, you can only drink it, not eat it' 'you're wrong again, do you know how cheese is made?' the wizard asked the people 'yes' replied some of the people 'well, with soy milk you can make a cheese-like food namely tofu' 'that's great' said the people 'we all kn
How the king loves tofu' 'true... but why would he take something from us? he has enough of it' said a man 'well' said another man 'I am a smith and I know how we could make the tofu look like it's made out of gold!' and because the king loved gold so much, they knew he would take it, and thus the tofu was made and delivered to the king, once he saw it he HAD to have it and he grabbed it, as soon as his skin touched the tofu it sucked him in, the people mining managed to escape now that the king went missing and they took the tofu and buried it somewhere between here and Port Sarim, but this tofu is cursed again by that same wizard to make sure no one frees the king from his prison" "so that's the story" Gary said...

"wow that's amazing, I never would have thought. I wonder why that thief wanted me to steal it for me". "What thief?" yelled the old man. "*cough*... I... um I mean." "A thief told you to get the golden tofu? DO you know what this means? This means that

someone is trying to use you to get the tofu" the old man said to Gary; Gary then looked up to the old man and said, "What do you mean and who cares?" The old man looked at Gary and asked, "Where did you meet this thief and how did you start searching?" Gary started to mumble, "The thief is in a jail cell..." And Gary got up from the crate he was sitting on and

began pacing back and forth nervously. "Just because he is in jail, doesn't mean he isn't a good person. He is probably just misunderstood and got framed by those stupid Paladins", said Gary. "Anyway, I need his help to get a sword. I went to the general store but their prices are just ridiculous so the thief is going to...erm...help me get the sword if I give him the golden tofu," said Gary. "If it is a sword you seek, I will help you get a much better one then that pathetic mithril sword in the window of that dingy general store," said the old man, his steely eyes glimmering. "You must help me, though. This thief is no common criminal. He is very dangerous and powerful man. I need you too..."

"...go and attempt to find the wizard that helped the people trap the king in the golden tofu. He might know where to find it.” The boy replied...

, my father was killed by a Wizard. I really don't want to go and find one. All I know is that the wizard was in black and red. He carried a Lava Staff and a lot of different runes. He almost looked like an Elf." Gary ended with a small giggle. "I know he was known as 'The Legendary...' "

..Islwyn, ArchMage of Isafadar. He had an Unholy Symbol of Zamorak on his chest"

Gary then started to tear up. Gary then saw a white owl fly above him and he dropped a black magician hat. He picked up and a mystical light blinded him. He then fainted onto a rock and hit his head which then knocked him out. While he was knocked out he was having visions of some a word that started with 'S' and he couldn't get it right, "Snatch, Stitch, Stritch, Snratch..." and finally he got it, "Snitch". He saw a golden ball sizes smaller then a golf ball, with wings flying past a group of people in a small stadium. He also saw children flying past in broom sticks. Then he saw himself in a puddle of water and he had a scar on his forehead. Then he...

realized that he read way too much Harry potter and decided that he should stop. He woke up and as he did the old man said, "wow, you’re pretty crazy, why were you saying get the snitch, get the snitch when you were fainted?" "Um.... I remembered back when I was in school I did something wrong and a guy snitched on me, vie been hunting him down ever since." "You’re crazy." said the old man and then

had a small flash back. He was in a Golden room with gold all over him, he then walked along a narrow passage way that led to a golden box, and on top of it was the Golden Tofu. He reached out for it and then was trapped inside the room without anywhere to go. Get into real time, Gary was too tired to snap the old man out of it so he ran off while the old man dazed into med air. Gary then ran to

port Sarim. He had a major decision ahead to face, one that could decide the fate of his life. Would be get the golden tofu, possibly free the evil king and get his mithril sword or help out the wizard and save Misthalin and maybe get better rewards. He decided to

ask his best friend Kyle for some help. Kyle was from a selfish and greedy family; so he was no help. Then Gary went to his other best friend named Taverly. Taverly was one of the best people Gary has ever met. She was just like him in every way, but Taverly was a girl of course. Anyways, Taverly was up for the quest so they both went to more families in Port Sarim and they asked families for their options. Three out of Fifteen families didn't want to speak about this; but the other three were giving all the information they knew about the Golden Tofu. It was remarkable, the old man was right about a few things he had told Gary about the Tofu. He failed to mention that it was located in a dungeon with a heavily guarded system. The system was made up of Guards, knights, guard dogs, the town’s people, magicians, and then some demon and dragons that are in the dungeon. The Kingdom was run by the rich and powerful evil king, who slaved his brother who villagers thought, was evil. And guarding the evil king was a magician. One of the top magicians of this ancient city that was cursed. Gary's decision had all been misunderstood. All of the things they had to decide on were connected. The Families also mentioned that this city was located in the Taverly Dungeon, and that’s why the town was full of Druids. The Druids were the only people who had the power to keep everyone down in the dungeon. So Gary and Taverly went to Taverly and since Taverly was named after this city: she knew it like the back of her hand. As they went into the city they were approached by

one of the family members they had met in port Sarim. He wasn't the best looking guy, but during their interview he did seem friendly, but he always had this weird twinkle in his eye. He had caught up to the two of them just in time to see them starting down a ladder into the famous Taverly dungeon. "No! No! No! Not that dungeon... oh no not that dungeon... That is the "famous Taverly Dungeon" The tofu is hidden in the secret Taverly dungeon... that is over by those mining rocks... just tap one with a golden spade and your in... Sorry for the trouble." The man spun in a circle and in a purple flash he was gone.

He suddenly popped up next to the feared Taverly Dungeon. He said to the dragon, “I have sent some visitors to visit you. They look like what you specified in your dietary requirements. They should be along tomorrow; hopefully you'll then be full for 5 minutes. Have fun!"

Taverley and Gary climbed down the ladder leading to the infamous Taverley dungeon, not knowing what awaits them. They stumbled across two shiny suits of armour. "Wow, these are beautifull!" Said Taverley." Come on, we have to find the golden Tofu, we shouldn't waste time!" replied Gary and opened the gate. Suddenly the two suits of armor animated and attacked them! But all of a sudden,

a wizard appears, strikes the two suits of armor with a Flames of Zamorak spell and disappears... "Who was he?" Taverly asked. "No idea he went to fast to get a good look at him." answered Gary

. Taverly had a great idea, she told Gary to put on the Armor and go in. Inside they were awaited by a big black pot with a blue liquid inside of it. They just ignored it and went past it. As soon as they went in they were approached by a big flock of black bats. They were scared and so they were about to run back. Taverly then turned back and told Gary, "We need to go in there if we are going to look for the tofu!" Gary turned and they both ran deeper. The deeper they got the more things they were approached by. In these dungeons it was hard to see, but that didn't scare them. They went deeper and deeper and they were approached by a black knight and he seemed to be guarding something. Taverly and Gary had to force themselves in. They went in and they were approached by flying axes. Taverly then ran into this temple; Taverly they screamed and Gary ran after her. When Gary found her she was hiding behind a pillar. Together they said, "I think this is the place..." They went deeper but nothing. Nothing was there except for pillars and flying axes. Gary and Taverly went out and as soon as they left they were approached by scorpions. These were not your ordinary scorpions they were big and poisonous. Taverly and Gary had to

find a way to get around them. "But how?" they thought. They sat there for a while thinking when all of a sudden a warrior ran up and killed them all. The path was open for them to run, but as they passed by the knight to their surprised he shouted...

"I wouldn't go in there if I were you!" Taverly then yelled back, "Why? What’s in there?" The knight ran away as more scorpions came. Gary and Taverly saw swords that were close by some skulls and rib cages, etc. they grabbed them and headed upon the path. Then they came close to a bridge and an opening. Taverly and Gary had to make a decision on where to go next, to the right or to continue going straight ahead.

They decided to keep going along the path. Soon they encountered the likes of which they had never seen before... giants. These were hill giants of long descent from those original ones here Zaros came, but this they knew nothing of. All they knew was that they were big and mean and had clubs. They decided to run through, but as they were almost to leave that section of the dungeon Tavelry was stricken down by a giant. Now she was not dead, but sorely wounded. At that point he jumped forth and saved her. Then he gave her his most prized possession... a lobster. She ate it and was instantly healed. Now it came to pass that they entered a great underground fortress. There they met

more black knights who wanted to kill them. They seemed very protective of something. Gary and Taverly needed a plan to get in so they decided to lure some Hill Giants to distract the black knights. So they had to go back to Draynor and buy some seeds. They did and ran as fast as they could to the area of the Hill Giants. There they started to plant tomatoes and the Giants were falling for it. Gary and Taverly then stopped planting them at the gate because the black knights were right behind them; so they ran and went to behind a rock. An hour later the Giants reached the gate. They asked, "Cran wi hav mur Tomatoz?" The knights told the giants, "SCRAM!" So they started to fight: this gave Gary and Taverly a chance to go in. Now they had two more problems. They either had to choose a path to the left or straight. The other problem was that they needed to be carefull because there were Black Knights every where.

Gary and Taverley were sneaking by, while the knights rushed to stop the giants from eating their dark-hearted brethren. Soon, they came to an even darker area...they heard footsteps, and they sounded as if they were approaching them. It was a bold, ugly man in a black jacket. He yelled "What are you kids doing here!? You’re not allowed to be here!" The children started shivering. All of a sudden, the man pulled out a black dagger and said "...we can't leave witnesses...I’m afraid I’ll have to lock you up”, and he did so. He put them in a cell along with an old man. He smelled like a dead squirrel.

The man was scared of them. The two children were scared of him as well, and they didn't want to talk to him. Taverly then blurted out, "Hi, do you know anything about a Golden Tofu?" The man stared at them and he said, "Ahh. Ahh. I do, actually." he then started to tell the story of his search for the golden tofu. "...
